The Orchestra Now performs three orchestral transcriptions of works by well-known composers: Balakirev’s orchestral suite of four pieces by Chopin, Weingartner’s orchestration of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 29 in B-flat Major, Op. 106, “Hammerklavier,” and Szell’s orchestral transcription of Smetana’s String Quartet No. 1 in E Minor, “From My Life.”
