A legendary Japanese scholar, TENSHIN OKAKURA, best known for “The BOOK of TEA”, wrote his only opera libretto, “THE WHITE FOX” in Boston (1913), which became a phantom opera for nearly one century. An internationally acclaimed conductor / composer, HIDEAKI HIRAI, finally completed a 3-act opera, translated in Japanese, which made a sensational success in the World premiere performance in Myoko, Japan (2013). Featuring ASAKO TAMURA, a renowned Japanese soprano based in New York, as the heroine role of Kolha, ATSUKI SETTANGELI, who contributes his outstanding stage art as well as KYO KASUMI, a stellar ‘Tate’ sword master, who joins the Opera as fight director, it will be a memorable U.S. premiere performance of the Opera, “THE WHITE FOX”.
